Each year CCSS administers a scholarship program which gives out merit-based financial awards for college-bound students from San Joaquin County high schools. There is also one scholarship for students from San Joaquin Delta College going on to a four-year college. Eligibility is restricted to students of Chinese descent.

In selecting scholarship recipients, the CCSS Scholarship Committee, headed by Dr. Elizabeth Blanchard, considers the student's academic achievement, leadership qualities, extracurricular school activities, and community service. Financial need is not a consideration.

The application form, updated every year, may be downloaded from this website. It is in electronic form. Students are encouraged to complete the application online, print it, sign it, and submit the hard copy with supporting documents.

The following scholarships have been received from generous local donors:

•  CCSS Club Scholarships
•  Dr. Henry and Sylvia Wong Scholarship
•  Wong Shee Huey Memorial Scholarship
•  Dr. Mary Ni Wang Memorial Scholarship
•  Mary and Jimmy Lam Scholarship
•  Dr. Guey C. Mark Memorial Scholarships
•  Ock Sam Huey Memorial Scholarship (for SJDC student)

Scholarship materials are due to the school's scholarship counselor by the date on the form. Students need only submit one packet of application materials which includes:

•  Completed application form
•  One letter of recommendation
•  An official transcript
•  Two short essays (See application: Word or PDF)

Although it is preferable that completed scholarship application packets be submitted to the schools scholarship counselor, alternatively, they may be sent to the Chinese Cultural Society of Stockton, P.O. Box 692035, Stockton CA 95269-2035. Submitting the packet by March 1st of any year will assure that the deadline is met.
